Urban Inspiration #1 - Flower Power

I have wanted to start featuring the most interesting looks I see on the many Urban Inspiration sites out there for a while. Here's the first of the many to come.

Courtesy of Lookbook.nu

This look, featured on Lookbook.nu by the amazing Dennis R. from Manila, Philippines, embodies what I consider the spirit of a warm blithe summer. The trichromacy of the light blue Linen Jacket, the navy Cuffed Pinstriped Shorts and his pink Y T-Shirt is perfectly balanced and the fact that the shoes contain splashes of all three colours is the cherry on top of the cake. Even though those amazing Paul Smith. Loafers are out of this world, I like to think I would have the bravado to pull them off.

The only thing I feel neutral about is his bag, even though my jealousy for Dennis owning so many Birkin bags is ineffable. I feel that a bag the colour of his shorts would have complimented the whole look much better, rather than it being matched with the belt.

It-Must-Be-Hard-On-You

As one site that I can't recall right now wrote, you should walk out the door every day with the same excitement that could get you...well you know, excited !

Shipley & Halmos jacket and pants, Original Penguin shirt and tie, Burberry belt, Nooka watch, Fred Flare cup

I can't comment much on this except how much I like this take on male fashion. While Women's fashion is always edgy and sometimes bordering the pg-18 zone, the same is not true for Men's as well. Why is it that breasts are always flaunted, meekly covered or behind wet white clothes and men are almost always kept fully clothed, god forbid someone might find out they have a penis?! This Vice-Magazine photoshoot does exactly that, and brings the MAN back into Men's Fashion.

Enjoy the Pictures!

Shipley & Halmos suit, Loden Dager shirt, Original Penguin tie, vintage pocket square from Screaming Mimi’s, Incase iPhone cover

agnès b. jacket, Sisley shirt, Topman pants and bow tie, Ben Sherman shoes
